John Choi is responsible for establishing the Asia-Pacific strategic direction of First Rate’s global expansion in Singapore. He drives regional marketing and business development to prospect and onboard new clients and to bring Frist Rate Solution and culture.
Prior to joining First Rate in 2017, Choi served as an entrepreneurial pastor with more than 10 years in a protestant local church in a suburb of Seattle. He is a creative strategist and a community mobilizer. He’s directed cross-cultural initiatives for churches and outreaches for the underprivileged youth, and he is passionate about serving and developing leadership through business in the nations. As a ‘third culture kid’ born in South Korea, raised in Los Angeles and educated in an American school in Taiwan, Choi’s unique background and personal passion drive him to see the business become a transformative platform to “love God and neighbor”, and he is a dynamic fit with the company’s cultural ethos of “Love, Give, Serve, Enjoy”. Before taking on his current role, he was an investment performance analyst with the BPO business line.
John graduated from Biola University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a Pre-med concentration. He earned his Master of Divinity degree at Fuller Theological Seminary and holds a CFA- Investment Foundations certification. He serves as an advisory mentor to two local Business as Mission start-ups in Singapore and together with his wife, Debbie, provides pre-martial counseling and volunteers to serve a local mercy ministry called Tamar village.
