First Rate Responds to SolarWinds Compromise

First Rate is aware of the recently announced compromise of SolarWinds Orion software and its subsequent use by APT actors in the breach of FireEye and multiple United States government agencies (https://us-cert.cisa.gov/ncas/alerts/aa20-352a). The Information Security team at First Rate has been closely following developments in this rapidly evolving situation since the initial announcement by FireEye, and we will continue to do so as the situation continues to evolve.

However, the Information Security team at First Rate wants to reassure you, our valuable clients, of several facts to let you know we are actively ensuring the data you’ve entrusted to us is secure.

  • First Rate does not now, nor have we ever used SolarWinds products in our environment.
  • We have made changes to our security perimeter based upon recommendations from our security technology vendors in response to these events.

Rest assured we will continue to closely monitor this rapidly evolving situation, and as new information and recommendations are made by the Cyber Security & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), our vendors, and the security community at large, we will respond as necessary to ensure the continued security of your data.

Should there be any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to reach out to the First Rate Information Security & Compliance team via [email protected].

Thank you for your continued trust in First Rate.
