Birth and Early Years in the 1990’s

The First Rate journey began in 1991 with a vision for a new model of success: to be Your Performance Solution Provider in business and to Love, Give, Serve and Enjoy in the community.

The 1990’s set the foundation for ongoing growth. By 1993, First Rate led the industry with one of the first PC-based rate of return calculation engines. In 1996, First Rate launched fully outsourced Back Office & Front Office solutions followed shortly in 1997 with Snap Shot, the first commercially available, browser-based performance reporting product. First Rate cruised into the millennium processing over 275,000 portfolios and established our Managed Hosting business line.

Building on New Technology in the New Millennium

By 2001, after only 10 years of business, First Rate had provided performance solutions to 15 clients, employed 50, and added SMA performance to its suite of products. During the next 5 years, new technology drove new applications. Snap Shot evolved into Advisor, dramatically increasing reporting functionality through user level flexibility.

Professional, a process-driven back office engine, rounded out our browser-based suite of products with the power to calculate unlimited returns per second with its scalable architecture. First Rate by then processed more than 650,000 portfolios. In 2009, Dallas Business Journal named First Rate one of the “Best Places to Work”.

Meeting Growing Industry Needs in Last Decade to Date

In the next decade, First Rate continued to build a broader base of industry offerings with the introduction of ACE, an automated composite management tool that brought efficiency and accuracy to composite reporting through its client-specific rules. Advisor Express was also unveiled, giving investment managers a streamlined reporting tool for daily point-to-point returns, investor statements and key wealth management information without runtime setup and extending our services to brokerage and retail markets.

With the evolution of on-the-go web-based technology, First Rate launched Mobile in 2013 allowing advisors access to investor information with the touch of a finger. In 2014, our comprehensive wealth management platform ARKON, allowing single-point access to investors’ information, was launched. So was Lightning, a new streamlined turnkey reporting service. First Rate by then supported more than 1 Trillion in AUM and processed more than 1 million portfolios.

Today we continue our mission of anticipating investment industry needs. New products, technology and services remain the focus. Our foundational solutions Advisor, Professional, and Express united within a consolidated console tool, which provides single sign-on access end user experience and a customized view for firms into the information necessary to meet client needs. ExecView and Goal Based Reporting tools now round out the First Rate wealth management arsenal.
